If you are like most of us, then you will find backbends to be one of the more challenging yoga asanas and in order to do your best comfortably, you need time and correct guidance. This is where specific workshops are invaluable, as it is a chance to develop more depth and understanding of the pose (Asana) and of your body and how it responds at different depths.
Backbends are also very beneficial as we are putting our bodies into the completely opposite position than our everyday activities such as sitting in front of the computer, driving, texting etc. They are a good way to reverse these habitual habits and great for opening up the lungs, stimulating the internal organs, squeezing the kidneys to help detoxification, along with developing a whole lot of strength.
During this two hour workshop you will learn how to use and integrate specific muscle groups to keep you safe and strong in your backbends.
In the first half of this workshop we will prepare the body to establish a solid foundation from which to progress from. There will be plenty of modifications to chose from to suit your needs.
The second part of the workshop we will integrate what you learned in the first half to take your backbends to the next level, comfortably and safely.
